Converting a file from YouTube to an MP3 file is not as difficult as some might think. YouTube files are called flv files. Because they are audio and video files, to save them as mp3 files, the video must be stripped and the audio must be saved. Fortunately, there is a free program online that will do this for you.
Converting a YouTube video first requires you download it using a program you have downloaded or with an online converter. These video converters capture YouTube videos by accessing its URL (web address) and detecting embedded video(s) on the page. There are many programs you may want to try, including Pavtube YouTube Converter. If you do not want to download any software, you can try an online converter like BenderConverter.com or CatchYouTube.net.
Go to the download page for Pavtube YouTube Converter. Click the “Free Download” button on the left side of the screen and choose to save the application file.
Click the “New Download” button at the top-left of the program’s screen to enter a “New Download” window.
Open a new Internet tab or window and visit the YouTube page with the video you want to download. Copy and paste its URL into Pavtube’s “URL” field in the new window.
Press the “Browse…” button to change the folder on your computer where you want to save your converted video. Choose a location and click “OK.”
Select “iPod MPEG4 Video” from the “Format” drop-down menu and click “OK” to begin the download and conversion process.
