Flip Video devices, at the time of this publication, don’t offer live streaming and the Ustream website doesn’t have a tool for direct uploading of prerecorded videos. You can still use Flip Video with Ustream, but you must transfer a copy of your prerecorded video to a software program called Ustream Producer. In this program, you then play your video as part of a live broadcast and rerecord it in a format that you can save to Ustream for future viewing.
Use your Flip Video camera to record one or more videos. If you’ve never recorded a video before, refer to the user manual for your specific Flip Video model.
Go to Ustream and log in to your account. If you don’t have an account, click “Sign Up,” fill out the Join Ustream webform and then click “Create My Account.”
Roll your cursor over your Ustream username near the top right corner of the site and select “Go to Dashboard” on the drop-down menu that appears.
Click “Create a Channel” in the Channel area. Enter a channel name on the Your Channel’s Name box that pops up and then click the “Create” button.
Go to the Ustream Producer website, click the “Download” button marked with the Windows icon under Ustream Producer Free and follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Ustream Producer on your computer. If Ustream Producer launches automatically after installation, close it.
Turn on your Flip Video camera and plug it into a USB port on your computer via its USB connector.
Click “Start” in Windows, select “Computer” and double-click the USB drive icon for your camera. Right-click on a prerecorded video file and then select “Copy” from the drop-down menu.
Click anywhere on your desktop once and then press “Ctrl” and “V” to paste the file on it. Repeat this process as desired with other Flip Video files.
